About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join our team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a full range of obstetric and gynaecological services to women attending our hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the provision of a full elective and emergency obstetrics and gynaecology service to women attending the hospital.
  • Work alongside the Consultant team to provide a comprehensive service, including delivery suite sessions, emergency gynaecology sessions, and elective gynaecology lists.
  • Take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate education, including teaching and training junior medical staff.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical services and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Take responsibility for maintaining their own continuing medical education and planning their continuing professional development jointly with the Trust.
Requirements
  • Experience in obstetrics and gynaecology, with a special interest in fertility.
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and contribute to the on-call rota.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development and quality improvement.
