Job Summary

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your skills in Obstetrics and General Gynaecology Surgical procedures, with a special interest in Fertility.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will contribute fully to the Obstetrics and Gynaecology workload of the department, including:

  • Delivery Suite sessions
  • Emergency Gynaecology sessions
  • Elective Gynaecology lists
  • Fertility clinics
  • On-call commitment

The appointee will work closely with consultants within the department to provide a full elective and emergency Obstetrics and Gynaecology services to women attending the hospital.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • Special interest in Fertility
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team

The appointee will be expected to take part in an alternate week resident nights on-call for Obstetrics and will be expected to take an equal share in the Consultant weekend on-call rota and a full share of bank holidays.
