Mental Health Policy Role:

The NHS is seeking a highly skilled Senior Policy and Engagement Officer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their mental health policy skills and knowledge at a national level.

Main Responsibilities:

The post holder will provide policy support to the Mental Health Network (MHN) policy function and wider MHN team. They will link in with the wider NHS Confederation Strategic Policy Team and the Mental Health Policy Group.

The successful candidate will keep abreast of relevant policy developments and their implications for MHN members and be able to communicate these effectively both verbally and in written form.

  • Gather and analyse information to inform policy development and debate.
  • Support the effective running of high-level meetings and events.
  • Support the scoping, discussion and production of policy briefings, consultation responses and other products.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with relevant partner organisations.
  • Draft member-facing products such as blogs and other communication outputs.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a passion for improving mental health services, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

Salary: £32,284 per year plus £4,000 London weighting if applicable (pro rata)

Contract Type: Fixed-term contract

Duration: 6 months

Working Pattern: Part-time, Flexible working, Home or remote working
