Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: UK

Thorn Baker Construction is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to support their growth in demand for modular construction and portable buildings. With over 50 years' experience, they are constantly looking for new ways to improve their operation and are now one of the longest standing and highest performing modular construction and portable building manufacturers in the UK.

About the role:

  1. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  2. Able to self-motivate and work without direct supervision.
  3. Computer literate.
    1. Collating and issuing tender packs for sub-contractor work packages.
    2. Negotiation and analysis of sub-contractor tender returns.
    3. Producing tender analysis for subcontract work packages.
    4. Subcontract payments, variations, and final accounts.
    5. Attending site project meetings.
    6. Responsible for project lead with HA, including prepare and issue monthly HA valuations, cash flow forecasts, key date trackers.
    Required Skills:
    1. Minimum HNC in Surveying or Construction or equivalent.
    2. Experience of working within the Construction industry for a residential housing developer.
    3. Understands costing of labour, plant and materials.
    4. Understanding of measurement, rates, build up and cost control.
    KEY SKILLS: QS, Quantity Surveyor, QS, SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid at Work, modular, MMC
