Job Summary

As a Senior Fleet Procurement Project Manager at LNER, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of our new fleet projects. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the Manufacture and Supply Agreement on behalf of LNER and the Owner, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead LNER's engagement with the manufacturer on unit design and acceptance, ensuring that all stakeholders' requirements are met.
  • Coordinate the design review process to ensure LNER's needs are addressed.
  • Engage with LNER staff and customers throughout the design process, including attendance at mock-up reviews and first article inspections.
  • Oversee the manufacturer's delivery of a design that meets stakeholder requirements.
  • Obtain sign-off for the design from stakeholders, including Owners.
  • Maintain focus on project delivery timescales.
  • Support the Fleet Procurement Business Change Manager in developing business transition plans.
  • Develop and implement processes for unit acceptance, ensuring LNER's requirements are met.
  • Provide assurance to the Head of Fleet Procurement and Owners prior to signing certificates of Acceptance.

  • A proven track record in project management, particularly in complex, high-value, or high-profile projects.
  • Experience working with suppliers and contractors.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to achieve consensus among diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to positively influence people at all levels.
  • The ability to drive improvements in employee and customer safety.
  • People management experience.
  • Familiarity with PRINCE2 project management principles.
