Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Building Careers UK. As a leading construction and property recruitment agency, we specialize in placing talented professionals in top M&E contracting companies.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the commercial aspects of projects, including reviewing project costs, evaluating and negotiating budgets, and developing procurement schedules. They will also be responsible for preparing bills of quantities and schedules of works, as well as managing cash flow and subcontractor payments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project costs for accuracy and address any discrepancies
  • Evaluate, price, negotiate, and finalize budgets and costs for project scope changes
  • Develop and maintain procurement schedules
  • Prepare bills of quantities and schedules of works to facilitate accurate project pricing
  • Cost control and value management strategies
  • Monthly forecasts, CVRs, and Profit & Loss statements
  • Oversee the commercial aspects of projects
  • Manage cash flow
  • Manage subcontractor payments
  • Variation Account and forecast final accounts

Requirements:

  • Experience of working within the Mechanical and Electrical sector
  • Degree qualified in quantity surveying or similar (HNC, etc) (Desirable)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
