We are one of the UK's largest Modular construction companies and a major employer in the Hull and East Yorkshire region. Our business is growing rapidly, and we're looking for talented individuals to join our team.

The Role:

This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with our pre-construction team to develop detailed contractors' proposals, liaising with clients and suppliers, and providing accurate tenders and quotations. You'll be responsible for creating enquiry packages, attending meetings, and engaging with supply chains to manage prompt returns of information.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Accurate Calculation and Tendering: Calculate quantities and prices accurately, ensuring that all proposals meet client expectations.
  2. Liaison and Communication: Work closely with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless communication and timely project progression.
  3. Proposal Development: Prepare detailed contractors' proposals, incorporating internal designs, client information, and employer requirements.
  4. Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with the pre-construction team to develop logistics proposals, ensuring that all projects are managed efficiently and effectively.
  5. Tight Deadlines and Multiple Projects: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, working under tight deadlines to deliver high-quality results.
  6. Commercial Acumen: Recognise scope limitations, ensure qualifications are aligned, risk management is costed, and opportunities are identified.
  7. Customer Focus: Closely interface with sales personnel to meet client expectations, providing excellent customer service throughout the tendering process.
  8. Enquiry Packages and Supply Chain Management: Create enquiry packages, attend meetings, and engage with supply chains to manage prompt returns of information.
  9. Tender Evaluation and Documentation: Prepare tender evaluation schedules of subcontract returns for settlement meetings.
  10. Reading and Understanding Construction Drawings: Read and understand construction drawings, schedules, room data sheets, NBS documents, and carry out detailed measurement and takeoffs.
  11. Applying Mark-up/Margin and Preparing Tender Returns: Apply mark-up/margin and prepare tender return documentation, including CSA, prelim breakdowns, margin analysis, and VE schedules.
  12. Maintaining Records and Electronic Data: Maintain accurate records and electronic data, ensuring that all project information is up-to-date and easily accessible.
  13. Organisational and Time Management Skills: Utilize excellent organisational and time management skills to manage multiple projects concurrently, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
Requirements:
  • HNC/HND or Degree Level in Construction preferred.
  • Highly numerate with a good understanding of current construction rates.
  • Strong capability in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and estimating software packages.
  • Familiarity with key terms of JCT D&B and NEC3 forms or contracts is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in an equivalent/similar role, preferably within Design and Build, Main Contracting/Modular background.
  • Ability to work on projects from early stages through PCSA to full contract award, collaborating with internal and external team members, clients, and representatives.
Salary:

£60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
