About the Role

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Network Restoration Specialist to join our team at SSE. As a key member of our Distribution Network Operations team, you will be responsible for the efficient restoration of supplies during outages on the Low Voltage Distribution network, ensuring safety is the number one priority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Low Voltage Distribution network incidents, prioritizing response, driving efficient restoration plans while providing technical guidance and assistance to field and office staff.
  • Focus on safety, leading customer performance, minimizing Customer Interruptions and Customer Minutes Lost.
  • Monitor network activity and data provided by thousands of substation monitors to drive a proactive fault management response.
  • Develop and implement effective network restoration strategies to minimize downtime and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent operational experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the electrical distribution system, including a detailed understanding of Ofgem regulations, IIS reporting, and RIGs.
  • Ability to manage priorities using technical knowledge for safety, customer, and cost solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Good IT literacy with an ability to multi-task across a variety of systems while collecting accurate data quickly.
