Job Purpose

National Grid is seeking a seasoned professional to lead its Portfolio and Regulatory Management function. As the Head of Portfolio Management, you will be responsible for driving transparency, accountability, and integrated end-to-end investment and portfolio management with oversight of regulatory commitments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in portfolio management, investment planning, and regulatory affairs. They will be able to provide thought leadership and oversight across the organization, collaborating cross-functionally and exerting significant external influence with regulators and other key stakeholders.

Key Aspects

  • Creation of full-blown investment plans and regulatory recovery strategies to communicate and achieve IT and D's advancement.
  • Development of multi-dimensional investment plans and regulatory recovery strategies, including creation of documents and presentations to communicate actionable plans with senior IT and business leadership.

Key Accountabilities

The Head of Portfolio Management will be responsible for monitoring and overseeing holistic executive-level portfolio and program tracking and reporting. They will also be responsible for developing and maintaining productive, trusted relationships with customers and regulators, managing reporting to regulators, and influencing regulators on matters of common interest.

Requirements

  • Excellent leadership, relationship, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence and manage senior stakeholders, including program sponsors.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with teams from large technology and investment planning consulting firms.
  • Experience in managing large and complex project portfolios, tracking benefits and spends.
  • Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication and performance measurement system design.
