Job Description

The Company

OXBO's client, a UK-wide multi-technology IPP, seeks a GIS Manager to contribute to the company's development team.

You will play a key role in the development of Solar, BESS, and other advanced technologies by conducting initial site screening, constraints mapping, and managing portfolio database information.

The Role

  • Mapping projects at high and local levels to provide solutions for site feasibility and development.
  • Providing spatial analytics-based solutions for potential site selection.
  • Creating map-based reports for use across the organization.
  • Supporting site plan development for planning and legal purposes.
  • Managing database systems and tracking site portfolio progression.
  • Contributing to the wider use of GIS across the organization.
  • Developing Software as a Service solutions for strategy development and integration.
  • Collaborating with third-party GIS specialists.
  • Coordinating mapping procurement with the in-house CAD team.

Requirements

  • Experience with ESRI products, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online.
  • Proficiency in scripting and modeling within the ESRI environment.
  • Ability to create web-based mapping solutions.
  • Experience working with data sets, including OS Mastermap, Land Registry data, and environmental data sets.
  • Knowledge of QGIS, Google Earth Pro, and delivering data sets for use in these products.
  • Knowledge of electricity, gas, and water networks would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of data visualization software, especially Power BI, would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD would be an advantage.
  • Good time management and planning skills are essential.
