Job Title: Development Chef

We are seeking an experienced Development Chef to join our Food Development team at Fresh Direct. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing meaningful relationships with customers' food development teams, as well as internal teams to support innovation and customer menu development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop close working relationships with customers' food development teams to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support product development, sales, and margin growth.
  • Take an active role in new product development, creating recipes, managing customer expectations, and tracking progress.
  • Plan, prepare, and present customer food days to meet customer and business expectations.
  • Provide food and industry knowledge, support, and expertise to colleagues.
Requirements:
  • Good commercial knowledge with excellent culinary skills.
  • A passion for fresh produce and ingredients.
  • Ability to adapt to and adopt various culinary styles and cuisines.
  • Enthusiastic with a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to build and develop customer relationships.
  • Strong relationship builder and team player.
  • Influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and resourceful.
  • Good knowledge of the foodservice industry.
