Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a thriving primary school in the Borough of Barnet. The successful candidate will work closely with a bright and energetic student in Year 1 who presents behaviours associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one support to the student, implementing personalized learning strategies and accommodations tailored to their needs.
  • Support the student in developing social skills, managing sensory needs, and fostering their academic progress.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the student's well-being and engagement.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly ASD and ADHD.
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and a commitment to supporting the individual needs of students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (desired but not essential).
