Support Worker - Young People

Vetro Housing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to young people aged 16-21 who are living in our supported accommodation services in Bridgend and surrounding areas.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of the complex needs of young people who have experienced trauma, PTSD, and other difficulties. You will work closely with our team to build resilience and confidence in our service users, enabling them to achieve their outcomes and manage their tenancies independently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to young people in our accommodation services
  • Develop and deliver group work facilitation to promote social skills and independence
  • Work collaboratively with our team to identify and address the complex needs of our service users
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized support plans
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience of working with young people in an accommodation setting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build supportive relationships
  • A strong understanding of issues that disrupt progress towards independence, such as mental health and substance use
  • Demonstrable skills in group work facilitation and individualized support
