Occupational Therapist for Children and Young People with Expertise in Autism

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our CAMHS team, working with children and young people who present with complex needs. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an integrated service that provides holistic care to vulnerable young people in Cornwall.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience working with individuals with autism, ADHD, and neurodevelopmental conditions, as well as mental health conditions. You will work closely with SALT, Psychology, nursing, and key working colleagues to provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention.
This community-based role requires frequent travel to various locations throughout the county. The ideal candidate will demonstrate their ability to manage these travel requirements effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized plans for children and young people presenting with complex needs
- Provide specialist Occupational Therapy interventions, focusing on improving daily living skills and functional abilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery
- Maintain accurate records and participate in quality assurance activities
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- A Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution
- Registration with the Health Professions Council
- Extensive experience working with individuals with autism, ADHD, and neurodevelopmental conditions, as well as mental health conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines
