Physics Department Head

A well-respected West London secondary school with a strong academic tradition seeks a passionate and experienced leader to head its Physics department. We offer a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters a love of science and academic excellence.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the future of Physics education at our school, leading a dedicated team of Physics teachers in a dynamic department. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a stimulating and challenging Physics curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all students and prepares them for their future careers.
As a leader, you will oversee the recruitment, development, and performance management of the Physics teaching staff, budget effectively to ensure the department has the necessary resources to deliver high-quality teaching and learning, and contribute to the teaching of Physics across the curriculum, potentially including Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11).
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership success, a deep understanding of the National Curriculum for Physics, and a passion for innovative teaching methods. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills are essential, as well as the ability to motivate and inspire students, fostering a love of Physics and scientific inquiry.
**Estimated Salary:** £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, based on location and experience.
