Job Title: Children and Youth Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Children and Youth Specialist. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people.

About the Role:

As a Children and Youth Specialist, you will work closely with our Specialist Carers to provide play and entertainment to children and young people who visit The Ark. Your primary responsibility will be to support the delivery of structured activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

You will be required to work as part of a team, following instructions and maintaining confidentiality. A good understanding of the role and of Noah's Ark's expectations of volunteers is essential. Reliability, commitment, and engagement are also key qualities we are looking for in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the delivery of play and entertainment activities for children and young people
  • Work closely with Specialist Carers to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to confidentiality protocols
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with children, young people, and their families
  • Contribute to the development of new activities and programs
Requirements:
  • Ability to work well with others and follow instructions as part of a team
  • Friendly and outgoing with a good sense of humour
  • Understanding of confidentiality and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Good understanding of the role and of Noah's Ark's expectations of volunteers
  • Reliability, commitment, and engagement
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills
  • A good level of self-awareness

Experience of working with children, young people, or families is desirable but not essential. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds with various skills.
