As a Retail Technical Engineer at Barclays, you will be responsible for managing, developing, and executing building real estate and physical asset security projects. Your key objectives will include overseeing workspace, engineering, and facility upgrades, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Vendor Management: Proven ability to manage a third-party supply base, ensuring quality and reliability.
  • Retail Engineering: Expertise in retail engineering, with a focus on optimising and maintaining retail environments.
  • Capital Project Development: Management and development of capital project proposals and operations aligned to the needs of the bank.
  • Risk Management: Identification of potential risks and issues associated with capital projects and development of risk management strategies to mitigate them.
  • Project Budget Management: Management of project budget for real estate and physical security projects by tracking expenses, forecasting costs, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Management of stakeholder relations including project sponsors, vendors, regulatory agencies, and the facilities management team to align capital project operations with the bank's objectives.
  • Best Practices: Identification of opportunities to improve the delivery processes for capital projects and implement best practices to enhance project performance.
  • Leadership: Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
