NHS Lothian is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Spiritual Care and Bereavement Service. As the Head of Spiritual Care and Bereavement Services, you will be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive spiritual care and bereavement service that meets the needs of patients, staff, and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Spiritual Care and Bereavement Service, aligning with national frameworks and Scottish Government policy.
- Lead and manage a team of spiritual care and bereavement professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent service delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including NHS Education Scotland, higher education institutions, and third sector agencies, to develop and deliver specialist training in spiritual care and bereavement.
- Develop and maintain constructive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including local communities, ecumenical, religious, no faith, and interfaith organizations.
- Provide strategic direction and robust management to establish NHS Lothian as a centre for specialist training in spiritual care and bereavement.
- Proven track record in a senior chaplaincy leadership role, with experience in department administration and budgetary responsibility.
- Full registration with the UKBHC and high-level credibility in spiritual care practice and leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to think strategically and analytically, and to deliver change in a multiagency environment.
