Energy and Utilities Manager

We are seeking an experienced Energy and Utilities Manager to join our Sustainability and Corporate Affairs team at AGS Airports Limited. This is a full-time, permanent role based at Glasgow Airport, with occasional travel to other group airports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and drive energy optimisation, carbon reduction, and cost savings opportunities through energy efficiency improvement initiatives across Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Southampton Airports.
  • Provide oversight across all of AGS Utilities services, both dry and wet (Gas; Water), and act as technical lead in introducing sustainable energy initiatives such as solar and Hydrogen programmes.
  • Identify energy optimisation or efficiency opportunities and action or support cases for change where appropriate.
  • Inform strategy and cost plans for energy transition to net zero.
  • Act as lead on plans for replacement of airport systems impacting the highest proportion of Scope 1 emissions (heat/hot water).
  • Support plans for introduction of alternative energy sources/types such as solar, SAF, and Hydrogen.
  • Ensure energy and carbon of projects is considered and minimised.
  • Promote energy efficiency across the group.
  • Roll out energy training for key personnel.
  • Ownership of energy monitoring systems.
  • Work with Data Analytics team and energy consultants to understand trends to enable intervention and most informed forecasting.
Requirements:
  • HNC/HND in a relevant engineering or energy management field or equivalent experience.
  • Training or experience in energy management, data analysis, account management is desirable.
  • Training or experience in implementing ISO50001 is desirable.
  • Experience calculating energy savings, tracking energy consumption figures, and bill management.
  • Experience with utility budgets and structure of energy costs.
  • Ability to engage effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders and liaise with utility service providers.
  • Experience in leveraging technology to enhance utility services.
  • Knowledge of relevant utility, Health & Safety, and environmental standards & procedures.
  • Analytical & data processing skills desirable.
  • Ability to present complex data to a non-technical audience.
  • Has an interest, passion, and determination to support AGS Airports net zero ambitions.
