Customs Operations Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Customs Assistant to join our team at DSV Road. As a key member of our ICC Operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing all International Import, Export & UK Domestic Inbound & Outbound transport movements for our Depot in Purfleet.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Checking documentation of import arrivals and creating documentation for export trailers leaving the UK
  • Ensuring all HMRC documents are prepared correctly and that the depots receive clear instruction on cargo when it is released
  • Communicating effectively with internal colleagues and customers around documentation, using IT to interface with HMRC systems and monitor the clearance status of shipments
  • Maintaining records of clearance, being organized and accurate with all systems

Requirements:

  • Excellent IT skills
  • Good communication skills with colleagues and external customers
  • Preferably some knowledge of Customs processes or systems
  • Ensuring legislative compliance in all areas and operating within all agreed operational procedures, and within statutory requirements

Working Hours:

Rotating shift pattern, 9-5 and 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm Mon – Fri, 8am – 4pm Every other Saturday on overtime basis.
