Packing Maintenance Technician

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Packing Maintenance Technician to join our team at Haribo UK. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing mechanical maintenance services to all machinery and equipment used for the packing of sugar confectionery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completing jobs in line with the Preventative Maintenance Schedule
  • Responding quickly and effectively to all breakdowns
  • Preparing machines in line with the planning schedule, including carrying out changeover where required
  • Ensuring all activities are carried out in line with the standards expected in the food industry
  • Carrying out project/installation work as requested
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with any Permit to Works, Job recording, fire alarm muting, Health & Safety and hygiene set system of work
  • To complete fabrication work, including milling, turning, welding, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • Installation and commissioning of packing machinery is essential

Requirements:

  • Mechanical Apprenticeship is essential
  • A manufacturing background with experience of case packers and palletising systems is essential
  • Practical problem-solving skills
  • Installation and commissioning of machinery would be ideal
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Good IT skills
  • Installation and commissioning of packing machinery is essential
  • A manufacturing background with experience of various types of packaging would be ideal

Working Hours:

This role is 40 hours per week on an alternating shift pattern and is based at our site.
