Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team, responsible for the commercial delivery of projects valued at approximately £200m annually.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of Quantity Surveyors, including trainee degree apprentices and commercial administrators.
  • Control all commercial activities for the business unit, ensuring quality and commerciality.
  • Manage and present regular commercial reports for the treatment programme, including order book/budget, monthly programme 'CVR' reports, and partners liaison meetings.
  • Commercially manage Framework Partners (consultants and contractors) to deliver the treatment programme.
  • Provide commercial interface with the rest of the SOE Commercial team, Delivery Managers, Project Managers, Designers, Engineers, and Estimators.
  • Work to strict financial targets and deadlines, understanding major programmes of work, and reacting to the demands of construction delivery to ensure best value for the company.
  • Resource planning for Quantity Surveyors and the development of the team, including recruitment.
  • Be actively involved in commercial strategies and initiatives that cross multiple teams and departments.
Requirements:
  • Relevant quantity surveying and management experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience in the NEC Suite of Contracts, including the Professional Services Contract and Engineering and Construction Contract Options A and C.
  • Experience in managing partnering arrangements, including deed or umbrella contracts.
  • Excellent people, leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to foster professional relations with others.
  • Team player.
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, problem-solving nature, and drive to succeed.
  • Full driving licence required for travel to construction sites.
