Job Title: Deputy Fundraising Manager

Marie Curie is a leading end-of-life charity in the UK, providing expert care and support to those affected by dying, death, and bereavement. We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Fundraising Manager to join our team and contribute to our mission of ensuring everyone has the best possible experience at the end of life.

About the Role

The Deputy Fundraising Manager will work closely with the Head of Regional Fundraising and senior leadership team to develop and implement a strategy to maximize fundraising for Marie Curie. This will involve collaborating with teams across the organization, identifying opportunities, and fostering strong relationships with supporters, corporate partners, and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an integrated fundraising plan to optimize Marie Curie's voluntary income across all fundraising disciplines in the region.
  • Work with the Heads of Regional Fundraising to optimize the recruitment, development, and retention of Marie Curie supporters by implementing and supporting an audience-focused approach and culture across the region.
  • Support the team in developing and delivering a broad program of sector-leading events and virtual events to increase participation, engage supporters, and grow income.
  • Deepen the understanding and insight of the needs and opportunities of key fundraising audiences in the region, including corporate, volunteers, and trusts and foundations.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with geographically dispersed teams and achieving growth in performance and income. They will also have experience of embedding strategic thinking and planning, and an ability to turn a strategy into an operational plan, engaging others to create shared ownership of the plans.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with the ability to represent fundraising internally and externally. They will also have experience of building new sustainable relationships and improving the retention of existing supporters or clients.
