Contract: Fixed-term contract for 12 months

Salary: £42,000

Key Responsibilities:

As a Mine Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for defining reserves to access raw materials for BA operations. Your key tasks will include:

  • Providing medium to long-term planning to support extraction of mineral assets
  • Creating long-term schedules for waste dumps
  • Designing pits and dumps to optimize operational resources and maintain production and quality targets
  • Supporting operating schedules and budget processes
  • Providing training to site engineers in short-term and mid-term mine planning
  • Ensuring compliance with the PERC code for public reporting of reserves

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent IT skills, including familiarity with major design and mine planning software packages
  • Knowledge of GIS and surveying would be an advantage
  • Degree-level qualification in Science or Engineering, ideally Mining Engineering or Mining Geology
  • Direct and relevant experience working in a mining environment
  • Production experience necessary, with a few years' relevant experience in mine planning and mine designs in the mining environment
  • Intention to register as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer following professional training and experience
  • Full driving license
