Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly group management accounts, including divisions, group, and consolidated accounts across a complex group structure.
  • Review and manage balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Develop and implement financial reporting requirements to support directors and staff.
  • Assist with the preparation and implementation of group tax strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Lead the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across all systems.
  • Implement and maintain a system of robust controls and processes over accounting transactions across multiple systems.
  • Maintain the chart of accounts for all systems within the group.
  • Partner with the Head of Reporting, Group FD, and CFO to provide strategic financial reporting to the board and senior management.
  • Assist in the preparation of board packs, investor updates, and external reporting to key stakeholders.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support key business decisions, including potential investments and acquisitions.
Requirements
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification).
  • Strong technical knowledge of FRS102 and tax regulations.
  • Proven experience as Financial Controller or senior finance role (ideally financial services, but not essential).
  • Hands-on experience in financial reporting, audits, and tax compliance.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience and ability to manage finance teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and systems, including Excel and accounting packages (ideally Oracle Netsuite, but not essential).
