The Role:

The successful candidate will assist the Procurement team in multiple residential construction schemes across London and Northern Home Counties. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Negotiating Price and Tender Analysis: The candidate will be responsible for negotiating prices and conducting tender analysis to ensure the best value for money.
  • Procurement Strategy Implementation: The candidate will participate in the implementation of the Materials procurement strategy and develop the regional supply chain to suit the business demand.
  • Market Competitive Solutions: The candidate will provide market competitive and innovative procurement solutions for the trade, demonstrating best overall value for money.
  • Procurement within Budget: The candidate will procure materials within budgets on time to progress works on site.
  • Budgetary Control Reports: The candidate will produce monthly budgetary control reports on all materials purchased for each site.
  • New Supplier Identification: The candidate will identify potential new suppliers.
  • Supply Chain Monitoring: The candidate will monitor the supply chain and upgrade suppliers to preferred status when necessary.
  • Dispute Resolution: The candidate will resolve disputes and account queries between suppliers and the company.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to have:

  • Construction Qualification: The candidate will have undertaken some sort of construction qualification.
  • Buying/Construction Experience: The candidate will have 1-2 years of Buying/Construction experience.
  • Desire to Work in Construction: The candidate will be qualified to A Level/College standard and have a keen desire to work in the construction industry.
  • Drive and Ambition: The candidate will be ambitious, self-motivated, have drive, and be eager to develop a career within the construction industry and specifically procurement.
  • Travel Ability: The candidate will be able to drive to the office near Waltham Cross.
