We are seeking an experienced Railway Project Manager to lead our high-speed rail project in Egypt.

This role requires relocation to Cairo, and the successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of a growing high speed rail network valued at £8 billion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design process for all high-speed rail track works, ensuring compliance with European EN standards and local regulations.
  • Manage a multidisciplinary design team across all engineering trades including rail infrastructure, signalling, and telecommunications.
  • Coordinate and integrate designs with all project stakeholders, including consultants, contractors, and government entities.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of design strategies, ensuring they meet project objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in high-speed rail systems, offering solutions and improvements to design challenges.
  • Ensure all design activities adhere to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Regularly report on design progress, challenges, and milestones to senior management and project partners.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in the rail and transportation sector, with at least 5 years in high-speed rail projects.
  • Proven experience in managing complete turnkey projects, encompassing all aspects of rail infrastructure.
  • Strong background in high-speed track works design is essential.
  • Excellent knowledge of European EN standards related to high-speed railways.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and integrate complex design processes among multiple project stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or higher is preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

  • Competitive salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
