About the Role

As a Senior Commercial Project Manager, you will support the Commercial Manager; helping to drive efficiencies and manage costs for our clients. This role will see you take control of all financial aspects of the project, overseeing commercial and contractual matters. You will deliver desired margin returns utilising high standards of commercial acumen, whilst identifying, recording and tracking both risks and opportunities.



Main Responsibilities

  1. Manage and monitor project costs, including weekly profit and loss reporting, to ensure timely and accurate financial data.
  2. Review contract documents and advise on any issues, ensuring compliance with NEC contracts and other relevant agreements.
  3. Track progress and cash flow forecast information to identify potential issues and opportunities for improvement.
  4. Produce and review commercial forecasts, Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), and Project Finance Reports to inform business decisions.
  5. Take responsibility for Subcontract Management, including subcontract forecasting, raising subcontractor orders, and negotiating subcontract terms.
  6. Prepare subcontract documents, enquiries, and assessment of quotations to ensure smooth project delivery.
  7. Place subcontract orders, agree on subcontract valuations, invoice, and make subcontract payments, as well as final account agreements.
  8. Be responsible for the management of the change control process, risk, and value management to mitigate potential risks and maximise opportunities.
  9. Manage and track project changes, variations, and/or notices to ensure accurate financial records and timely completion.
  10. Assess and value variations and compensation events to ensure fair and transparent processes.
  11. Prepare and submit interim valuations and payment applications to clients, along with agreement of final accounts.
  12. Attend risk review, progress, and commercial meetings on-site with the Client to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  13. Be actively involved in tenders and pricing to ensure competitive bids and optimal project outcomes.
  14. Assist Credit Control with cash recovery and forecasting to maintain accurate financial records and timely payment.
  15. Support the operational team in daily commercial and contractual aspects to ensure seamless project delivery.
