Job Title:

Structural Dynamics Engineer – (Dynamics)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Dynamics Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Dynamics department, you will be responsible for performing simulation and analysis of structures and equipment subjected to dynamic loading.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement structural design guidance at design reviews with respect to naval shock load cases.
  2. Conduct finite element analysis and simulation of structures and equipment to assess their behavior under dynamic loading.
  3. Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders on structural design and analysis.
  4. Collaborate with the Dynamics team to develop and improve department-level processes and procedures.
Requirements:

Essential:

  1. Mechanical Engineering Degree (or related STEM degree).
  2. Understanding of the principles of structural mechanics and dynamics.
  3. Understanding of material strength properties (elastic and plastic properties).

Desirable:

  1. Knowledge of MatLab and Python.
  2. Finite Element Analysis software knowledge or a willingness to learn.
  3. Knowledge of Fluid Structure Interaction.
