Volunteer Befriender Role

At SeeAbility, we are seeking a Volunteer Befriender to play an important role in the lives of the people we support in Redhill.

This role involves being a reliable companion to attend activities the individuals enjoy, such as going for a walk, attending a concert, or going out for coffee.

We are looking for someone who is kind, empathetic, and friendly, with a good sense of humour and ability to chat.

The successful candidate will need to be punctual, reliable, and able to deal with confidential information.

Key responsibilities:

  • Attend activities with individuals and provide companionship
  • Support individuals with daily tasks and activities
  • Communicate effectively with individuals and staff
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

About SeeAbility:

SeeAbility is a charity that specialises in supporting people with learning disabilities and autism who may also have sight loss.

We encourage people with disabilities to challenge what they expect from life and from wider society.

We provide training and support to help volunteers develop new skills and make a positive impact.
