Job Title: Band 6 Community Podiatrist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Podiatrist to join our team as a Band 6 Community Podiatrist. As a key member of our community podiatry team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a variety of community clinics and domiciliary settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, diagnose, and develop individualized care plans for patients with complex clinical needs, including vascular problems, diabetes, rheumatology, and musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Provide high-quality clinical care, including the management of high-risk patients, biomechanical/musculoskeletal conditions, and nail surgery.
  • Work independently in community and acute settings, providing a high standard of quality clinical care and meeting the competencies for a Band 6 Podiatrist.
  • Collaborate with neurorehabilitation, rheumatology/orthopaedic consultants, and other specialists to provide comprehensive care for patients.
  • Manage your own work time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Develop and implement pathways for complex caseloads, working closely with Specialist leads to ensure effective patient care.
Person Specification:
  • Podiatry professional qualification and registration with the Health Professions Council.
  • Certificate in Local Anaesthesia and evidence of post-grad Continued Development.
  • Experience of service delivery in acute and community settings, with a focus on high-risk caseloads.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, report writing, and presentation skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage your own work time and prioritize tasks.
  • A forward-thinking, creative, and flexible approach to service delivery.
