Character Animation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Character Animation Specialist to join our Feature Animation division at DNEG. Based in North America, this role will involve creating high-end animated feature films with our team of experts. As a key member of our animation department, you will be responsible for crafting spectacular visuals and bringing characters to life.

About the Role

In this exciting position, you will work closely with our Rigging Supervisors and Animation Leads/Supervisors to develop suitable rigging solutions. This is a team effort that requires collaboration and creative energy. Your extensive understanding of human and animal anatomy, as well as your fundamental animation knowledge, will be invaluable assets to our team.

Responsibilities
  • Create animation rigs for characters, creatures, props, and vehicles
  • Implement proprietary tools to aid in creating animation rigs
  • Work closely with Rigging Supervisors and Animation Leads/Supervisors to develop suitable rigging solutions
Requirements
  • Proven years of experience with significant creature/character projects
  • Fundamental animation knowledge
  • Programming or scripting skills (e.g., MEL, Python, C++) would be beneficial but not essential
