About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Food Service Assistant to join our team at Sodexo in Holyrood, Edinburgh. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Parliament Café.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and serving of hot and cold foods and drinks from counters within the café.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and workstations to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Serve and replenish food from counters during meal periods and break down stations at the end of meal periods.
  • Prepare and serve barista-made specialty coffees to our customers.
  • Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing excellent customer service.
  • Be responsible for the opening and closing of the café in the absence of the café supervisor, including cash handling.
Requirements
  • A can-do attitude and flexible approach to working.
  • Excellent attention to detail and good communication skills.
  • Previous experience in a similar role would be ideal, but not required.
  • General knowledge of health and safety procedures.
  • Understanding of basic food hygiene and cleaning practices.
