Finance Manager Role Overview

Our client, a leading business in St Helens, is seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and operational management of the Accounts Department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and present monthly management accounts for two companies, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and timely financial forecasts, including cash flow, budget, and variance analysis.
  • Manage and maintain the fixed asset register, depreciation calculations, and inter-company accounts.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns and year-end accounts.
  • Liaise with auditors and ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations.
  • Develop and implement effective financial controls and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Supervise and mentor the Accounts Assistant to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in management accounting, including preparation and presentation of financial reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Relevant professional qualifications, such as CIMA, ACCA, AAT, or QBE.
