Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Excelitas Technologies. The successful candidate will provide support and direction in the control of processes and quality management, in accordance with both the departmental operating procedures and company Quality Manual.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with company operating procedures.
  • Provide guidance in the development of procedures to accommodate a changing environment.
  • Support Operations in achieving an environment of continuous improvement through identifying best practice and championing changes working closely with Process Engineers.
  • Lead Quality Root Cause and Corrective actions through Quality methods such as 8D, A3.
  • Provide a supporting role for the completion of Fast responses using Fishbone, 3 legged 5 Why.
  • Manage department MRB process and reporting of key issues, late MRB tickets.
  • Manage Nonconformities related to the responsible area and provide support and guidance to employees on effective corrective actions.
  • Produce Right First Time data. Publish results and utilise them to direct efforts/focus.
  • Liaise with all areas of the business, at all levels, together with suppliers and customers in resolving product quality related issues.
  • Conduct layered process audits and where applicable AS9100D internal audits in order to demonstrate compliance with procedures, processes and other requirements.
  • Attend various business/product reviews to ensure the business is addressing all aspects of the requirement to the satisfaction of the customer.
  • Build effective working relationships internally and externally.
  • Verify processes to AS9102 (FAI) AS9145 (PPAP) or similar.
  • Risk mitigation and analysis (FMEA – PFMEA/DFMEA).

Requirements:

  • A high standard of formal education (preferably to HNC level or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of AS9100 quality requirements.
  • A time served background in an engineering discipline.
  • An understanding of metrology (optical/mechanical), and problem solving tools / techniques.
  • Fully competent in the use of PC's (Microsoft Office Applications) as detailed technical report generation will be required.
  • Excellent communication skills, a methodical approach to working, and proven attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure to achieve demanding objectives.

Desirable Attributes:

  • An extensive knowledge of Excelitas Technologies products and processes, together with an understanding of the Excelitas Technologies Management System.
  • Familiarity with auditing techniques, although training will be given if required.
  • Quality Assurance experience within a precision manufacturing environment.
