Job Summary

We're seeking a dedicated Compliance Officer to join our second line of defense team at Paynt Limited. This role is crucial in managing escalations and investigations, reinforcing our compliance framework and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point for escalations related to compliance matters, particularly those arising from Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processes.
  • Conduct and oversee investigations into complex compliance issues, including but not limited to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and fraud-related matters.
  • Ensure that processes comply with local and international compliance regulations and standards.
  • Assist in the implementation of compliance policies and procedures developed by the Compliance Department.
  • Assist the Chief Compliance Officer/ Money Laundering Reporting Officer (CCO/MLRO) to provide training and support to first-line staff on compliance-related matters to enhance understanding and adherence to compliance procedures.
  • Assist the CCO/MLRO to prepare reports for the Risk Committee and regulatory bodies, detailing investigation outcomes and compliance status.
  • Recommend improvements to internal compliance controls and processes to prevent future compliance issues.
Requirements
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a compliance role within the financial services industry, particularly in a regulatory environment dealing with AML and KYC.
  • Strong understanding of UK compliance regulations and standards applicable in the financial sector.
  • Certification such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS), or ICA qualification.
  • Experience in handling high-profile and complex compliance cases.
