Job Title: ESOL Tutor for Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children

Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced ESOL tutor to work with unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC) in a temporary, full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality ESOL tuition to UASC students, developing and implementing lesson plans tailored to their specific needs.
  • Assess students' language proficiency levels and provide constructive feedback to aid their progress.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to promote student success and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements.
Requirements:
  • Certified English Language Teaching (CELTA) qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with UASC or vulnerable young people, with a strong understanding of their educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) qualification.
  • Experience delivering ESOL classes to UASC in a similar setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
