About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as the Head of Private Debt Investments. This is a key role within our organization, responsible for overseeing all investment activity in private debt asset classes globally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investment Oversight: Oversee all investment activity in private debt asset classes globally, ensuring alignment with our risk and return targets.
  • Strategic Advice: Advise our CIO team on current and future allocation levels, taking into account changing market conditions and risk appetite.
  • External Manager Selection: Make proposals for external manager selection, market opportunities, and relative value within the asset class.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish and maintain performance benchmarks for external managers in the asset class.
  • Relationship Management: Be the primary point of contact with external managers, managing relationships and driving effectiveness.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Develop regular reporting and analysis, summarizing performance for AIG Regional and Global CIOs.
  • Risk Management: Liaise with external managers and coordinate risk management and reporting.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with AIG CIOs and third-party investment managers to evaluate emerging credit or risk issues across the portfolio.
  • Asset Class Frameworks: Develop, implement, and maintain AIG Asset Class Frameworks for private credit asset classes.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize AIG platforms to aggregate data and perform internal analysis as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience: 10+ years of demonstrated experience in investment management or insurance asset management, with a focus on private debt.
  • Risk Frameworks: Strong knowledge of risk frameworks, credit, liquidity, and capital constraints of regulated insurance companies.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to infuse the internal investment process with new ideas.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Aladdin preferred, but not required.
  • Multi-Tasking: Ability to multi-task across a wide number of activities and multiple, tight deadlines.
  • Travel: Limited traveling, up to 10%.
