Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join our team at Elysium Healthcare. As a key member of our Multi-Disciplinary Team, you will work closely with individuals to develop and implement personalized easy read versions of their care documentation, promoting co-production and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized easy read versions of care documentation with individuals and teams.
  • Complete speech and language assessment tools and analyze results with support from the SLT.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a bank of communication-related documentation for the region.
  • Support staff training and development in communication approaches.
  • Provide high-quality written reports, supervised by the SLT.
  • Attend regular clinical and service development meetings.
  • Contribute to audit and research initiatives.
  • Work under the supervision of the Regional Lead Speech and Language Therapist to maintain and develop a high-quality Speech and Language Therapy service.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Experience working with individuals in a relevant field.
  • A good understanding of communication approaches and their applications.
  • Awareness of relevant legal frameworks, such as the Mental Capacity Act.
  • Strong literacy and technology skills to create reports and utilize specialized communication aid software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
