Job Opportunity: SEN Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support the educational and personal development of students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Assist teachers in creating and delivering engaging and inclusive lessons, adapting teaching materials and strategies to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and supportive learning environment, collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to monitor and report on student progress.
  • Support the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs), working closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure students receive the support they need.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEN setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting student development.
  • Current enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for a new one.
