Team Manager Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Team Manager to join our client, a leading global insurance business in Colchester. As a Team Manager, you will be responsible for driving the performance of your team to exceed key measures such as retention, loss ratio performance, premium written, and workflow management.

The ideal candidate will have previous people management experience within insurance, although candidates who can demonstrate leadership behaviours will be considered. You will be responsible for supporting the evolution of segmentation within the Trading Underwriting Team and influencing underwriters to embrace and lead change.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic input into the running of the Trading Underwriting Team
  • Conducting regular monthly team meetings for positive engagement
  • Working closely with the Head of Broker
  • Sustaining relationships with Service Delivery Team Leaders
  • Pro-actively managing the servicing and retention of larger complex renewals
  • Developing and maintaining close relationships with key stakeholders
  • Undertaking resource planning and improving the effectiveness of the Trading Underwriting Team
  • Assisting with talent acquisition and delivering a structured induction process for new joiners
  • Leading and coaching the team to ensure strong performer development and addressing underperformance

Essential skills and qualifications include:
