Job Overview

The NBC News Internship is an exciting opportunity for individuals to gain a broad understanding of an American TV newsroom. As an intern, you will work with newsgathering and production teams within the NBC News bureau in London, focusing on all aspects of the newsroom operation.

Key Responsibilities

Support the international assignment desk in logistics and coordinating feeds, assist with travel and scheduling, and support the producers and librarians with picture research, logging, and editorial information gathering.

Requirements

To be eligible for this internship, you must be currently studying at university and applying for a placement year in your 2nd or final year, graduating from your undergraduate degree in Summer 2025, or looking for employment after completing A-Levels or an equivalent course or an apprenticeship.

You must also be eligible to work in the UK without restriction for the duration of the internship. We strongly advise that you do not apply to more than one internship role to ensure that you are considered for the internship that you are most interested in and that your skills are aligned to.

What You Will Learn

As an intern, you will gain experience in various aspects of the newsroom operation, including live shots, the assignment desk, and social news gathering. You will also develop your skills in coordination, communication, and teamwork.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have a curious and enthusiastic approach to television news, a desire to pursue a career in journalism, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You should also be creative, proactive, and able to work under pressure, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain sensitive information.

A good understanding of Avid or Final Cut is desirable, and you should be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
