Job Title: Stroke Recovery Expert

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team as a Stroke Recovery Expert. In this role, you will work with adults who have communication and swallowing disorders following a stroke.

About the Position:

This is a full-time position based at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust. As a Stroke Recovery Expert, you will provide high-quality specialist assessment and rehabilitation to adults with complex communication and swallowing needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist assessment and rehabilitation to adults with communication and swallowing disorders following a stroke
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team on the acute stroke unit and deliver care in the community
  • Maintain accurate records of patient progress and treatment plans

Essential Criteria:

  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy from the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Current registration with the HCPC
  • Membership of the RCSLT
  • Evidence of postgraduate study in dysphagia and ongoing continuing professional development (CPD)
  • Significant relevant specialist clinical experience working with patients with communication difficulties and dysphagia
  • Experience in delivering education and training packages and supervising junior therapists
  • Competent to a high level in managing complex patients with communication and/or swallowing disorders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, observation, listening, and empathy skills

Salary Information: £38,000 - £50,000 per annum
