Job Title:

Associate Director - Ecology

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and driven Associate Director in Ecology to join our team at Carrington West. As part of a larger multi-disciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to lead on significant ecological projects, work alongside a diverse range of specialists, and help shape the future of our ecological services.

The Role:

As an Associate Director in Ecology, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of ecologists, overseeing the delivery of complex ecological projects, and providing strategic direction on biodiversity and conservation issues. You will also work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure the successful integration of ecological services into wider planning and development projects.

  1. Lead and manage ecological assessments, including Phase 1 habitat surveys, protected species surveys, and Ecological Impact Assessments (EIA).
  2. Oversee project delivery and ensure compliance with UK ecological legislation.
  3. Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and statutory bodies, building strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
  4. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on large-scale projects, ensuring an integrated approach to environmental planning.
  5. Extensive experience in ecology consultancy, with a proven track record in managing and delivering ecological projects.
  6. In-depth knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policies.
  7. Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage both people and resources.
  8. Full UK driving licence (essential).
