Carrington West is seeking an experienced Associate Director in Ecology to join our team. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to lead on significant ecological projects, work alongside a diverse range of specialists, and help shape the future of our ecological services.

About the Role

As an Associate Director in Ecology, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of ecologists, overseeing the delivery of complex ecological projects, and providing strategic direction on biodiversity and conservation issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage ecological assessments, including Phase 1 habitat surveys, protected species surveys, and Ecological Impact Assessments (EIA).
  • Provide strategic input into ecological design and mitigation plans.
  • Oversee project delivery and ensure compliance with UK ecological legislation.
  • Manage and mentor junior ecologists, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and statutory bodies, building strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Develop new business opportunities and contribute to the growth of the ecology team.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on large-scale projects, ensuring an integrated approach to environmental planning.
What We're Looking For

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled ecologist with a proven track record in managing and delivering ecological projects. You will have a degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, and be chartered with CIEEM or equivalent.
