Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Children's Support Worker to join our team in Abertillery. As a Children's Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people between the ages of 8-18 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in a residential setting.
Key Responsibilities- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, depending on their age and individual needs.
- Maintain a homely and friendly culture and environment in the residential homes.
- Deal with challenging behaviours in a safe and sympathetic manner.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Provide support for the children and young people in the home, promoting their independence and well-being.
- Maintain a safe environment for young people and ensure their safety at all times.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
- Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with young people is desirable but not essential.
- Experience in another healthcare or social care setting is also desirable but not essential.
- A full driving license is required, as you will be required to transport young people from time to time.
- You must be over the age of 21 and able to commute to Abertillery.
- The opportunity to complete the Level 3 Children and Young People qualification - fully funded.
