Job Overview

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker for Children to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to children and young people in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and young people in all day-to-day activities and interests
  • Promote independence and wellbeing
  • Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips with the children
  • Participate in weekend and evening activities to support the children's interests
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
  • Provide emotional and practical support to the young people
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines
  • Support the team in minimising incidents when behaviour can be challenging

Requirements:

  • A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
  • Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
  • At least 6 months' experience of working with children or in a similar Social Care setting
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
