About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tunnel Ventilation Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our tunnel ventilation team, you will play a crucial role in designing and analysing tunnel ventilation systems for both normal and emergency operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and analyse tunnel ventilation systems to ensure safe and efficient airflow in tunnels
  • Assess and implement fire and life safety systems in accordance with client specifications and worldwide standards
  • Work on a range of underground facilities and tunnels, including metro systems, railway stations, road tunnels, and cable tunnels
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver tunnel ventilation projects
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in tunnel ventilation and fire safety
Requirements
  • Proven experience in tunnel ventilation design and fire safety engineering
  • Excellent technical skills and numeracy skills acquired during academic background
  • Advanced user of 1D design tools such as IDA for Road and SES for rail
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics modelling and visualisation using programs such as FDS, Pyrosis, and Smoke view
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current legislation and standards applicable in tunnel ventilation design
