Electrical Engineering Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team in Cardiff. As a key member of our Building Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the MEP team on a portfolio of projects, ensuring the application of correct technical approaches and staff capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and management to the MEP team on a portfolio of projects locally, nationally, and internationally.
  • Ensure correct technical approaches are applied to the project and staff are of suitable capabilities to undertake the task at hand.
  • Have project management skills and responsibility for the financial performance of the projects, including liaising directly with clients on fees and commercial matters.
  • Oversee total project delivery by enabling effective team management and delegation to ensure the efficient and satisfactory delivery of multiple and complex projects.
  • Report to the Project Director and participate in and lead bids for new opportunities, including developing fee proposals and attending interviews.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer status via an appropriate professional institution such as IET or CIBSE.
  • Extensive experience in delivering a range of projects within the building services environment.
  • Proven people management skills and familiarity with managing staff at all levels.
  • Client-facing and project leadership background.
