Job Title: Epidemiologist

The Pirbright Institute is seeking a highly skilled Epidemiologist to join our team. As a key member of our Transmission Biology group, you will play a crucial role in advancing our understanding of viral disease outbreaks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and apply mathematical models to predict and understand the transmission of viral diseases.
  • Collaborate with laboratory and field scientists to integrate their results into models.
  • Communicate complex scientific information to policy makers and report outputs from models.
  • Contribute to the development of decision support tools for policy makers.
Requirements:
  • PhD or equivalent with a substantial mathematical modelling component.
  • Experience of applying mathematical models to epidemiology.
  • Experience of collaborating with laboratory and field scientists.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
